Moldova’s progress toward joining the European Union was a key topic during a new round of Moldovan-Polish inter-ministerial political consultations.
State Secretary of Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carolina Perebinos, and Poland’s Undersecretary of State, Marek Prawda, led the discussions.
The two delegations reviewed Moldova’s EU integration efforts, regional security developments, the Transnistrian conflict settlement, and cooperation within international organizations. They also assessed the broader bilateral cooperation agenda.
With Poland set to hold the rotating EU Council Presidency in the first half of 2025, both sides discussed Moldova’s EU accession progress. Undersecretary Prawda reaffirmed Poland’s strong support for Moldova’s European path and expressed readiness to continue providing development assistance.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional security challenges, particularly the impact of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine on Moldova. Discussions highlighted the growing threat of hybrid warfare, including propaganda and disinformation campaigns.
The talks also focused separately on Moldova’s efforts toward a peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict.
On the economic front, both parties welcomed the positive trend in trade relations. They reiterated their commitment to strengthening economic and investment ties, including organizing a regular meeting of the Moldovan-Polish intergovernmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation later this year.
