Moldova and Ukraine extended their bilateral and transit transport liberalization agreement until the end of 2027. Moldova and Ukraine no longer require international road freight permits for transport between their countries or in transit, which reduces administrative hurdles.
Representatives from both countries responsible for the transport sector—State Secretary Mircea Pascaluta and Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Serhii Derkach, decided during a meeting in Chisinau. According to authorities, the measure directly boosts logistical efficiency and lowers transport costs for businesses on both sides of the Prut River.
Through this extension, both states reaffirm their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development notes that such agreements support Moldova’s transformation into a key logistics hub between the European Union, the Black Sea region, and Eastern partners.
