Andrian Popescu will serve as Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Milan, Italy, starting January 1, 2025.
The Foreign Ministry reported that Popescu, a career diplomat with over 19 years of experience, began his diplomatic service in 2005 in the European Integration Department, focusing on consular affairs.
Between 2006 and 2020, he held various positions in Moldova’s diplomatic missions, including roles in Warsaw (2006-2009), Tel Aviv (2011-2014), and Rome (2016-2020).
While in Italy, Popescu served as Deputy Permanent Representative and Alternate Permanent Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and the UN Food Program.
