Moldova’s Ministry of Finance has launched the Budget Execution Portal (PEB), a pilot online platform that gives the public direct access to information on how state funds are being spent.
The portal allows users to monitor the budget execution of public institutions, including the Presidency, Parliament, the Government, ministries, agencies, district councils, and local authorities.
The platform provides real-time data through interactive charts and easy-to-read tables. Users can select a public institution to view its approved budget, actual expenditures, and remaining available funds. The information is accessible on both computers and mobile devices and can be downloaded for further analysis.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Natalia Doroftei said the portal is designed to give citizens a clear picture of how money collected through taxes is managed.
“Public money is your money. The Budget Execution Portal is an interactive platform that shows every leu spent from the state budget. Citizens can see what was planned, what payments have been made, and what funds remain available,” Doroftei said.
The portal has been launched as a pilot project and will be expanded gradually, including on the basis of user feedback. The Ministry of Finance is encouraging citizens, journalists, experts, and civil society representatives to test the platform and submit recommendations through the built-in feedback module.
According to the ministry, the launch of the Budget Execution Portal marks another step toward greater transparency in public finance management and forms part of Moldova’s commitments to modernize public administration and advance its European integration process.
