Glossa editor-in-chief Natalia Melnic and videographer Maria Terlețkaia have been banned from entering the Transnistrian region for three years, the publication announced on Wednesday evening.

According to Glossa, the journalists traveled to the left bank of the Dniester as part of an information tour organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine and entered the region without any issues. However, while leaving through the Rîbnița checkpoint, they were detained for approximately an hour and a half, according to IPN.

The journalists were later handed a decision issued by the so-called security ministry of the Transnistrian authorities, which declared them “undesirable persons.”

A representative of the institution allegedly questioned them about the purpose of their visit and their travel route. Glossa reported that the document banning their entry had actually been issued on September 12, 2025, two days after the publication’s team was detained while filming a report in Tiraspol.

In September 2025, Glossa journalists were working on a report about Tiraspol residents and the parliamentary elections. According to the publication, they were held for about two hours at the headquarters of the region’s so-called security service, had their equipment confiscated, and had their footage deleted without consent.
