Moldova Launches Return Assistance Service for Diaspora Citizens

The Moldovan government has officially launched the Governmental Return Assistance Service—a new initiative to support Moldovan citizens from the Diaspora who wish to return home.

Established under the Diaspora Relations Bureau of the State Chancellery, the service functions as a one-stop support center, offering personalized assistance throughout the pre-return, return, and post-return stages.

The initiative focuses on helping returnees reintegrate socially and economically by providing tailored counseling and guidance on accessing public services, healthcare, education, employment, business opportunities, and the recognition of studies. Beneficiaries can attend informative sessions and participate in community activities. The service will coordinate with relevant public authorities to ensure comprehensive support.

The service is free of charge and accessible via phone, email, online platforms, or in person at the Bureau’s headquarters. Each applicant will undergo an initial interview to assess individual needs, provided for six to twelve months. During this time, authorities will monitor each beneficiary’s reintegration progress.

This initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to encourage the return of Moldovan citizens and ensure their long-term reintegration into local communities.
