Starting today, November 2, citizens can apply for energy compensation for the 2026–2027 cold season. Applications can be submitted online through the government platform compensatii.gov.md or with assistance from social workers and specialists at public service centres.
Financial support will be provided for five months, from November through March. The authorities are expected to announce the rules and eligibility criteria for this winter’s compensation programme.
To receive heating compensation for November 2026, citizens must submit their applications by November 27. For the following months, applications must be submitted between the 1st and 25th of each month.
Eligibility criteria for compensation include:
- The value of the property owned;
- The volume of energy consumed;
- Household income;
- Ownership of a new car.
To apply for assistance, citizens must access the government’s Ajutor la Contor platform, log in or create an account, and complete the application with information about household members and their income.
Those who do not have internet access or encounter difficulties completing the form can contact their local social worker or a specialist at the town or village hall.
A new application must also be submitted by people who received compensation during the previous winter. Assistance is not granted automatically simply because a household was registered last year.
The minimum heating compensation remains 500 lei this year. The maximum amount is 1,000 lei for households using natural gas or central heating, and 800 lei for those using firewood or electricity.
The amount of compensation will be determined individually, depending on each household’s circumstances. The calculation takes into account family income, the number of household members, the heating source and estimated energy expenses.
The authorities will verify the information provided through the Energy Vulnerability Information System, which is connected to several government institutions’ databases.
