The Republic of Moldova will receive additional financial assistance of 145 million euros from the EU. Parliament ratified the bills in yesterday’s session that provide for this.
The financial assistance will be used to support the authorities’ reform program, helping our country address existing external and financial vulnerabilities. The reforms will target the energy sector, the rule of law, the business climate, public administration, and the labor market, facilitating the advancement of institutional and governance reforms.
The financial assistance for our country consists of a grant of 45 million euros and a loan of 100 million euros. The funds will be disbursed in two equal tranches. The disbursement of the tranches will depend on the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in implementing the agreed-upon conditions with the EU. There will be 13 actions to be carried out, and according to the authorities, based on their completion, the first tranche will be disbursed in September, and the second in December.
