The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) has announced its commitment to providing the Republic of Moldova with a loan of €50.1 million to support the agriculture sector. The bill for ratifying the agreement with the IBRD has received support from the Economy, Budget, and Finance Committee. Previously, the Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee approved the joint report on this project.
The next step involves the ratification of the agreement in the legislative assembly.
The agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development outlines that the funds will be allocated to the implementation of the “Investment in Governance, Growth, and Resilience in Agriculture (AGGRI)” project.

The project aims to support the improvement of public agricultural services, stimulate market-oriented growth, and enhance the resilience of beneficiaries by increasing access to irrigation services. Additionally, it includes provisions for swift response measures in the event of crises or emergencies. The project is expected to be implemented by September 2029.
