Moldova will receive €10 million from Romania: what will these funds be used for?

Romania pledges €10 million to support the development of rural areas and local administrations in Moldova, as announced by Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu during a session of the General Assembly of the Association of Communes of Romania.

The allocated funds will be drawn from the reserve fund of the Romanian government, a decision highlighted by the Prime Minister: “We are committing €10 million towards bolstering local administrations and fostering rural development in Moldova.”

This commitment comes on the heels of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis’s recent discussions with Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament, regarding assistance to Moldova, especially in light of its aspirations for EU accession. “We consistently explore avenues to support Moldova, particularly in this crucial phase of its integration process into the EU. Our discussions underscore our shared vision for the future of our union,” President Iohannis emphasized.
