Moldova now accesses the European Cybersecurity Reserve, a key component of the Digital Europe Programme. The country joins a European rapid-response mechanism for significant cyberattacks, after Roberto Viola, Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology at the European Commission, and Doina Nistor, Moldova’s Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, signed the agreement in Brussels, IPN reports.
According to a press release from Moldova’s Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the support includes expert teams that provide technical knowledge and essential crisis resources such as equipment and licenses. This initiative strengthens Moldova’s ability to react quickly and effectively to cybersecurity threats.
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CNECT) states in a press release that the reserve consists of trusted providers who respond to significant or large-scale cyberattacks upon request from member states or EU institutions, agencies, and bodies.

CNECT emphasized, “Moldova’s inclusion reflects its deepening cooperation with the EU in the field of cybersecurity.”
In Brussels, officials also discussed Moldova’s potential accession to the “Roam Like at Home” zone by January 2026. I will allow Moldovan citizens to enjoy EU-equivalent roaming rates.
