Officers from the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and criminal investigation officers of the National Investigation Inspectorate, together with prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases and supported by officers of the Special Purpose Police Brigade “Fulger,” are conducting criminal investigation actions this morning in a particularly serious case, alongside their counterparts from Ukraine.
Police said the operations began at 06:00 and are taking place within a joint investigation team that includes representatives of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
According to preliminary information, the investigation targets the alleged preparation of the physical liquidation of several public figures in Ukraine. Authorities believe Russian special services coordinated the suspected criminal activities.
Officials have not released further details, stating that they will provide additional information after completing the procedural actions.
