Moldovan Farmers and Small Enterprises Can Access Up to €150,000 in Funding

Farmers and small agro-enterprises can now secure loans of up to €150,000 to support processing, packaging, and storage of agricultural products. The loans cover up to 90% of project costs, require a minimum 10% contribution from beneficiaries, and are repayable over eight years, including a four-year grace period.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) stated that the funding is available under the Enhancing Capacities for Rural Transformation project, which is being implemented with support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

Eligible activities include:

  • Processing, calibrating, packaging, and labeling fruits, vegetables, table grapes, berries, and medicinal and aromatic plants
  • Constructing warehouses and cold storage facilities
  • Implementing renewable energy solutions for post-harvest activities

Beneficiaries also enjoy VAT exemptions, customs benefits, favorable interest rates, and the option to invest in both fixed assets and working capital.

“These investments allow agricultural entrepreneurs to better utilize local production, create jobs, and add value to Moldovan products,” the MAIA stated.
