Moldovan Parliament will host the 16th meeting of the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee (CPA RM–EU) on Friday, 5 December. Marcel Spatari, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration, and MEP Siegfried Mureșa will co-chair the event.
Participants will discuss the Republic of Moldova’s EU accession negotiations, the regional security situation, and the country’s resilience to hybrid warfare. At the end of the meeting, the co-chairs of the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee will hold a press conference at 12:00.
Members of the European Parliament (EP) delegation will meet with the country’s leadership — President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, and Parliament Vice President Doina Gherman. The agenda also includes meetings with Carolina Perebinos, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; ambassadors of EU member states; civil society representatives; media organizations; and human rights activists.
According to a statement issued by Parliament, the EP delegation led by Siegfried Mureșan will include MEPs Maria Grapini, Jonas Sjöstedt, Liudas Mažylis, Krzysztof Brejza, and Dan Barna, as well as Iwona Piórko, Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, and Anca-Maria Simion-Neagoe, Head of the European Parliament’s Eastern Partnership Liaison Office.
The CPA RM–EU serves as the parliamentary forum created by the EU–Moldova Association Agreement. It brings together members appointed by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the European Parliament, who meet twice a year, alternating between Chisinau and Brussels.
