The development of Moldovan-Bulgarian relations and close cooperation between the authorities in Chisinau and Sofia in advancing our country’s European agenda were discussed during the meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the new Ambassador of Bulgaria to our country, Maya Dobreva.
The Premier spoke about the measures taken by the authorities to support and promote cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. In this regard, Dorin Recean cited the contribution of the Bulgarian community in the Taraclia district to strengthening the partnership with Bulgaria.
“EU accession is a strategic goal of our country and a national priority. We are committed to building a modern country that can create prosperity for every citizen and representative of every ethnicity,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean during the meeting with Ambassador Maya Dobreva.

Officials also discussed the possibilities for the development of trade and economic relations between the two states, mentioning in this context the organization of the Moldovan-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation meeting in 2024. Additionally, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the energy and environmental sectors.
