Moldovan PM attends event dedicated to America Days in Chisinau

The Moldovan-American friendship, in the spirit of strategic dialogue between the two countries, on May 18 marked the third edition of the event, America Days, held on Pedestrian Street from Chisinau. Attending the event were Prime Minister Dorin Recean, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Kent Logsdon, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

In the opening of the event, the prime minister thanked the American authorities for the constant support provided to Moldova in key sectors of development and for the firm support for the country’s European way.

“The America Days in our country have become a traditional event, during which we celebrate the strong Moldovan-American partnership, and through the activities set, we discover the American culture, as well as the bilateral projects carried out with American support. We thank the government of the United States of America which, through assistance programs, is present in the economic, social, and investment fields, and helps us speed up the process of our country’s transformation and development,” PM Dorin Recean said.

Ambassador Kent Logsdon said that the event represented an occasion to reiterate the friendship relationship between the United States and Moldova, edified over three decades. The American official reiterated the firm support of the USA, including through development projects, for the irreversible way of Moldova’s integration into the family of democratic countries of the European Union.  

„We are here to support you on the way to integration into the European Union. During our strategic partnership, we implemented Moldova investment projects worth 2 billion dollars in all. These means are investments into a democratic future of Moldova, on behalf of the American nation to the friendly Moldovan people,’’ the U.S. ambassador said at the event.
