Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on 25 June during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2026) in Gdańsk.

The talks focused on Moldova’s next steps in the European integration process and Poland’s support for opening additional negotiation clusters in the country’s accession talks with the European Union. The two officials also discussed expanding economic cooperation, attracting Polish investment, and leveraging opportunities arising from Ukraine’s reconstruction for the wider region.

Munteanu highlighted the importance of Moldova’s partnership with Poland.

“Poland is one of the strongest supporters of the Republic of Moldova on its European path. It stood by us during difficult periods, from the energy crisis to strengthening state institutions, and we are grateful for this support,” he said.

The two leaders reaffirmed their shared vision of a more united, secure, and prosperous Europe built through solidarity and joint investment.

“The Republic of Moldova and Poland share the same conviction — a more united, safer and more prosperous Europe is built through solidarity and investment. I am pleased that we have in Poland a trusted friend and partner with whom we are building this future together,” Munteanu added.

URC2026 brought together European and international leaders to discuss support for Ukraine and its post-war reconstruction. Munteanu was scheduled to participate in the conference’s opening session and in a plenary discussion dedicated to Ukraine’s recovery and future reconstruction efforts.
