Moldovan soldiers will receive a batch of military equipment from the United States this week. It concerns 20 HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) vehicles, the Defense Ministry announced.
Soldiers of the National Army will use the vehicles for national and international training and exercises. The Chisinau authorities and the US State Department provided the donation within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation.
In 2014, the National Army received the first 43 HMMWV military equipment from the US government. The measures aim to enhance the capabilities of the Moldovan military.
The transportation of the vehicles will take place at night when temperatures are lower and traffic is lighter, the Defense Ministry announced.
