Students in the Republic of Moldova will soon have greater opportunities to study the Chinese language and participate in international educational and cultural programs, including summer and winter camps organized in China. These opportunities will become available under a new agreement to be signed between the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.

Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun emphasized that the agreement marks an important step in strengthening Moldova–China relations by promoting educational, cultural, and academic cooperation.

“Our Chinese partners will continue to support us in expanding Chinese language programs. They will assist in curriculum development, teacher training, and organizing language proficiency tests. The agreement will also provide scholarships for studies in China and support Moldovan students’ participation in competitions such as the Chinese Bridge,” stated Minister Dan Perciun during a government meeting.

The agreement sets out a general framework for bilateral cooperation in Chinese language education. It provides for the deployment of Chinese teachers and volunteers to Moldovan educational institutions, the training of local educators, the offering of scholarships for studies in China, the development of teaching materials, and the organization of proficiency testing.

Officials plan to sign the document at the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference, which will be in Beijing.
