The Employers’ Association of the Tourism Industry of the Republic of Moldova (APIT) has officially become a member of the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA), an initiative of the European Commission dedicated to developing modern vocational education and apprenticeship systems across Europe.

Through this accession, the Moldovan organization joins a European network that promotes the development of professional skills, cooperation between businesses and educational institutions, and the integration of young people into the labor market through modern training programs.

APIT representatives say that the affiliation opens new opportunities for the tourism sector in the Republic of Moldova, including access to European best practices and international cooperation programs.

“For the tourism sector, the development of professional skills is becoming an essential element for increasing the competitiveness of Moldova as a destination and for strengthening human capital in tourism services,” said Sergiu Manea, president of APIT.

APIT’s participation in the European initiative is expected to boost cooperation between the business community, educational institutions, and public authorities, including through training programs for specialists in areas such as tourist guiding, hospitality management, hotel services, and the organization of tourism experiences.

“Joining the European Alliance for Apprenticeships is part of APIT’s efforts to support the modernization of the tourism sector in the Republic of Moldova and to contribute to aligning it with European standards, including through the development of international partnerships and the promotion of initiatives dedicated to professional skills development,” Manea added.

The initiative comes in the context of Moldova’s European integration path and aims to strengthen cooperation between the private sector and European institutions, as well as to integrate the tourism sector into European professional networks and skills development programs.
