Creating jobs, increasing pensions and salaries, and tackling corruption are the main expectations Moldovan citizens have for the country’s next prime minister, according to a report by Realitatea.

Residents interviewed said the future head of government should prioritize improving living standards, strengthening the economy, and addressing corruption, which they see as one of the country’s most persistent challenges.

Asked what qualities the next prime minister should possess, respondents pointed to professionalism, integrity, competence, transparency, and the ability to make decisions in the public interest. Many also said the new government should focus on delivering practical results rather than political disputes.

The report highlights that, in the public’s view, the next prime minister’s immediate priorities should include creating new employment opportunities, raising wages and pensions, combating corruption, and improving the effectiveness of public administration.
