Moldovans in the USA, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland can vote by mail in the upcoming election on October 20. To vote, citizens must register in advance on the website www.inregistrare.cec.md by September 6.
The authorities note that preliminary registration is optional. This process allows Moldovan citizens with voting rights to indicate their intention to vote in a specific location abroad. If a voter opts to vote abroad, the authorities will remove them from the basic electoral list for that election.
On August 29, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved the distribution of an informational video about the preliminary registration process for Diaspora citizens who choose to vote by mail. The Diaspora Relations Bureau of the State Chancellery created the video.
