The ammunition depot in Cobasna, in Moldova’s breakaway Transnistrian region, will be the subject of an assessment to be presented on Friday, August 21, by the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) and the Military Intelligence Agency (AIM) of the Ministry of Defense.

The institutions will present the main findings of their joint report, titled “Cobasna: Separating Myth from Reality,” including information on ammunition stocks, the depot’s infrastructure and the risks associated with the facility.

At the press conference, SIS Director Alexandru Musteata and AIM Director Radu Cisleanu will present a technical and security assessment of the Cobasna depot.

According to the SIS, the report examines the characteristics of the storage infrastructure, identified risk scenarios and recommended measures for managing those risks.

The officials will also provide clarifications regarding scenarios discussed publicly concerning the potential scale and consequences of an incident at the ammunition depot.

The press conference will take place on Friday, August 21, at 11:00 a.m. at the SIS headquarters.

The event will be broadcast live by RLIVE.MD and Realitatea TV.
