Moldova’s team won medals at the Para Powerlifting World Cup 2024

Three athletes from the Republic of Moldova have reached the podium at the Para Powerlifting World Cup 2024, held on 20-25 March in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh.

Mihail Blanaru won first place in the cadet category (weight under 49 kg), Egor Briculschi took first place among juniors (weight under 80 kg), and Larisa Marinenkova took second place among adult athletes (weight under 73 kg).

Also, Stefan Rosca placed fourth in the under 88 kg category, Denis Raiul placed seventh in the same weight category, Valeriu Buruian placed eighth in the senior under 80 kg category, and Mihail Èšurcan placed ninth in the under 97 kg weight category. The team was led by coaches Zinaida Iov, Alexandru Iov, and Dumitru Prodan.

A total of 245 athletes from 34 countries took part in the competition. Seven athletes represented the Republic of Moldova. Our team placed 9th.
