More than 200 companies from the Republic of Moldova will receive non-repayable financing offered under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Competitiveness Project supported by the World Bank. The budget is $50 million, and this project will be implemented in 2023-2027.
From the total budget of the Project, through the Co-financing Mechanism for Improving Export Competitiveness implemented by the Enterprise Development Organization (ODA), gratuitous financial support is provided to cover 50% of the cost of services and equipment, but not more than 600 thousand lei (30 thousand euros) per beneficiary. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization specified that thanks to this support, business entities will be able to improve the quality of their products and services, launch new ones, optimize internal processes, improve the corporate image, identify new customers and markets, but also establish partnerships in value chains.

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, said that the financing offered by the World Bank is a tool to improve the quality and competitiveness of enterprises.
“By helping more than 200 companies start exporting or find new markets, we will help increase the added value produced in the country, the income of economic operators, and the well-being of the population,” Alaiba emphasized.
The head of the World Bank Country Office in Moldova, Inguna Dobraia, said that the new project is an important tool for improving the competitiveness of the economy by strengthening SMEs, creating jobs, improving the quality of their products and services, entering international markets and attracting investment.
