Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu stated that the Republic of Moldova is undergoing a positive process of development and convergence with European standards, emphasizing that the country’s economic situation “is not that bad,” in an interview with TVR.

“Not that bad. I have seen much more difficult situations in my career while working for the World Bank and other institutions. I believe it is very important, just like in a person’s life, to have dynamics, and our country’s dynamics are positive. We are in that well-known process of convergence, aligning with European standards,” he said.

The Prime Minister also referred to international experiences, including the Fall of the Berlin Wall, Romanian Revolution, Croatia’s accession to the European Union, and the integration processes of other countries.

“The European Union is the most successful geopolitical project after the United States. All countries that have joined have benefited enormously—not only economically, but also through institutional development and the emergence of a middle class,” Alexandru Munteanu added.
