NASA astronaut greeted by over 200 young people passionate about science

A legend of space exploration, Jeff Williams, former commander of the International Space Station, met with over 200 young people passionate about science in Chisinau.

Pupils and students interested in physics, mathematics, and computer science spoke directly with the astronaut and asked questions about his experiences in space, where he spent a total of 534 days.

According to Mayor General Ion Ceban, the event highlights the potential of young people in the Republic of Moldova and the importance of supporting education. He emphasized that authorities are investing in developing new generations and promoting excellence in schools.

The visit of the NASA astronaut represents a rare and valuable opportunity for the educational environment, helping promote STEM fields and motivating young people to pursue careers in science and technology.
