The Moldovan Government has approved the National Program for Accession to the European Union, which outlines provisions from all 33 accession chapters. These chapters cover essential areas such as fundamental rights, the economy, environmental protection, and digitalization.
Authorities plan to implement the Program between 2025 and 2029. By meeting its objectives, Moldova aims to align its legislation with EU standards, strengthen its institutions, and move closer to full EU integration.
“Our country’s strategic goal is to join the European Union and build a European way of life here at home, in the Republic of Moldova,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

According to the Executive’s press service, the Program’s implementation will improve citizens’ quality of life by ensuring more efficient public services, functional justice, high-quality education and healthcare, modern infrastructure, and a cleaner environment. The business sector will gain greater access to the European market, while public authorities will improve cooperation to implement reforms effectively.
The State Chancellery, through the Office for European Integration, will oversee the Program’s implementation. Officials will submit an annual progress report to the Government and Parliament by February 25 of the following year.
Beginning in October, officials will update the Program each year to reflect EU recommendations and Moldova’s commitments in the accession process.
