NATO Military Committee Chair Giuseppe Cavo Dragone Visits Chisinau to Strengthen Defence Cooperation

Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, is paying an official visit to Chisinau, where he met with Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii and Commander of the National Army Vitalie Micov.

The officials discussed cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and NATO within the Partnership for Peace framework, the regional security situation, and challenges caused by the war in Ukraine, as well as reforms in the national defence sector.

They agreed to continue implementing projects under the Individual Partnership Action Plan for 2025–2028, alongside initiatives from the Defence Capacity Building Package, which they consider essential for modernizing the National Army.

During press statements, Vitalie Micov and Giuseppe Cavo Dragone highlighted more than 30 years of cooperation between Moldova and NATO, emphasizing strengthened defence capabilities and efforts to counter hybrid threats.

The NATO official also stressed the importance of deepening political and military dialogue and expanding practical cooperation in areas such as military training, human resources management, strategic communication, and cybersecurity.

The visit, taking place from March 18 to 20, includes meetings with representatives of Moldova’s presidency and government.
