The government has initiated new negotiations for the sale of the former Republican Stadium land. Artur Mija has been appointed as the head of the Moldovan negotiating team and will also sign the agreed-upon text of the agreement on behalf of the country.

The delegation from Moldova will include Roman Cojuhari, Director of the Public Property Agency, Sergiu Prodan, Minister of Culture, Viorel Garaz, State Secretary of Economy, and officials from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cadastre, and Ministry of Infrastructure.

The 5.2-hectare plot of land on Tighina Street, formerly occupied by the Republican Stadium, may be sold to the US Embassy for approximately 15 million euros. This information was previously announced by the Government.

The proceeds from the sale will be allocated towards the establishment of the Centre for Culture and Contemporary Art ‘Universe’, the renovation of sports schools nationwide, and the feasibility study and design of the future National Stadium.
