Teams have chosen the Palace of the Republic as the location for the debate between Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo. The national TV channel will broadcast the debate.
According to the representatives of the Party of Socialists, which is supporting Alexandr Stoianoglo in the presidential race, the candidate proposed Thursday, October 31. Representatives of Maia Sandu rejected the idea, insisting on holding the event on Thursday or Friday (October 24 or 25).
“The Stoianoglo team proposed Sunday to find a compromise, but they have not reached a final agreement yet,” the socialists say.
The format of the debates has not yet been set either. Gheorghe Gonta will moderate the event, having been invited by Stoianoglo’s team. The journalist told Realitatea that the candidate’s electoral staff contacted him with an offer to present the event, which he accepted.
Adrian Balutel previously claimed that Maia Sandu’s representatives wanted to organize the talks on national television, but Alexandr Stoianoglo’s team wanted a platform outside the TV sets.
