“The reality is that thanks to the ability of Ukraine to resist, the situation in Moldova remains peaceful. The measures taken by Ukraine in liberating its territories contribute to the strengthening of our country. We emphasize everywhere: the ability of Ukraine to be strong, the ability of Ukraine to integrate as deeply as possible into Euro-Atlantic structures contributes to the security of the entire continent, the security of Ukraine, but also the Republic of Moldova,” Popescu said.

For the second time in the history of the North Atlantic Alliance, the leaders of the NATO member countries adopted the final declaration of the summit in Vilnius, in which the Republic of Moldova is given for a separate paragraph, as a sign of the particular attitude of the North Atlantic Alliance towards our country, as a partner vulnerable to Russian threats and the consequences of the Russian war against Ukraine.

Thus, NATO leaders firmly support “Moldova’s right to independently determine its future and its foreign policy course without outside interference,” confirming that they fully respect Moldova’s constitutional neutrality.
