Nicu Popescu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, has arrived in Berlin for a diplomatic visit to Germany. During his stay, which will last until March 29, Popescu is expected to meet with a number of German officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, to discuss the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
The talks will also touch upon the organization of the European Political Community Summit by Moldova in early June, as well as other pressing topics. The visit comes just days after Popescu visited Brussels, where he spoke about the steps taken by his country towards European integration and the measures being taken by Moldova’s authorities to counteract the threats facing the country.
At the same time, discussions focused on regional security in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the consolidation of Moldova’s resilience. Popescu emphasized Moldova’s readiness to become a full-fledged member of the European family and expressed his appreciation for the support and encouragement received from the EU institutions.
