Luminita Odobescu assured that Romania will continue to support the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The Romanian diplomacy chief is part of the Bucharest delegation led by Klaus Iohannis, attending the opening of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
According to Romania’s Foreign Ministry, Obobescu said that the authorities across the Prut support Volodymyr Zelensky’s peace formula and emphasized that Bucharest supports and will continue to stand by the Republic of Moldova, “whose stability is crucial for the entire region.”
“The head of Romanian diplomacy also attended the transatlantic dinner hosted by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. She reiterated the importance of transatlantic unity in addressing global challenges and emphasized the need for a coordinated transatlantic approach in the Black Sea region. She stressed support for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova in countering Moscow’s hybrid tactics,” the Bucharest diplomatic service said.

At the UN, Odobescu also discussed the situation in the Middle East with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, attended the ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends to Hold Ukraine Accountable for its aggression against Ukraine, and met the family of a Romanian hostage in the Gaza Strip.
