Canadian and US citizens can be employed in Moldova without obtaining a work permit. The corresponding decision was adopted at a government meeting.
“Lack of labor force can affect the country’s economic performance. In the case of Moldova, the lack of labor force has become a serious obstacle to the country’s economic development. Because of this, we are losing opportunities for economic growth,” the Economy Ministry said.

Thus, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Switzerland, Georgia, Iceland, Japan, Montenegro, Liechtenstein, Norway, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Korea, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, the United States of America, Ukraine and Australia can work in Moldova without a work permit.
According to the authorities, thanks to this measure, the labor market in Moldova will become more flexible, and companies will have better access to skills and innovations. So, citizens of 20 countries can work in Moldova only based on a visa, temporary residence permit, and residence permit.
