The former democratic deputy, Constantin Tutu, is currently on the left bank of the Dniester River. Sources from the IPN in the region confirmed that he entered the Transnistrian region via Ukraine using false documents and provided a photo of him at a local establishment in Tiraspol.

Tutu was detained on July 22 at the Athens airport alongside Vlad Plahotniuc, based on Interpol “red notices” issued by Moldovan and Russian authorities.

On September 16, prosecutors requested preventive detention and issued an arrest warrant for Tutu in the case of illicit enrichment. They suspect he is in Transnistria, despite being legally banned from leaving Greece. Tutu’s lawyers insist he remains in Greece and cannot leave the country. Judges today decided to issue a warrant for his arrest.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that operational information indicates Tutu intends to reach Transnistria, where he could carry out certain actions. The General Inspectorate of Police asked Greek authorities to verify whether Tutu is at the declared address where he must stay during the travel ban. So far, the Inspectorate has not reported any response.
