(PHOTO) Easter markets in Chisinau: When and where will they take place

Between April 8–11, the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral Nativity of the Lord in Chisinau will host the traditional Easter Fair on the alley opposite Mitropolit Varlaam Street. Vendors will sell holiday-specific food products such as pasca, cozonac, and painted eggs, along with other themed food and non-food items.

On Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, organizers will hold the Palm Sunday Fair of traditional folk and craft artisans in the same square, near the Holy Gates Triumphal Arch, where artisans will sell handmade products.

According to the municipality, authorities will organize thematic Easter fairs across the city’s districts between April 6–20. On April 19 and 20, vendors will carry out commercial activities at the entrances to the Saint Lazarus Cemetery on Doina Street, offering pasca, cozonac, cream-free pastries, soft and hot drinks, flowers, and floral arrangements.

During the same period, sellers will also operate at the entrance to the Central Cemetery Chisinau, offering flowers and floral arrangements.

The municipality established multiple locations for Easter fairs across districts:

  • Buiucani District: Ion Creanga Street, 72–78; Alba Iulia Street, 196/2–196/4; Calea Iesilor, 15.
  • Botanica District: Cuza-Voda Boulevard, 21 and 23; Decebal Boulevard, 34/1 and 91; Nicolai Zelinski Street, 7; Dacia Boulevard (several locations); Traian Boulevard intersection with Independentei Street; Sarmizegetusa Street, 35; Independentei Street, 3/2.
  • Ciocana District: Alecu Russo Street, 26; Mircea cel Batrin Boulevard alley (two intersections).
  • Centru District: multiple locations including Hancesti Road, Ismail Street, Tighina Street, Iurie Gagarin Boulevard, Academiei Street, Grenoble Street, and others.
  • Riscani District: square on Miron Costin Street.

The municipality will grant permits for commercial activities only to operators who hold sanitary-veterinary authorization and official food safety registration certificates for the products they sell, including beverages.
