(PHOTO) Moldovan athlete wins gold at judo Grand Prix competition

An athlete from Moldova has won gold at the judo Grand Prix competitions held in Austria. Adil Osmanov, an employee of the Carabinieri General Inspectorate, won five victories in the 73 kg weight category. This was reported by the National Olympic Committee.

Before that, Adil Osmanov had beaten Jano Ruebo (Germany), Ramazan Kojakov (Bahrain), Ioan Dzitak (Romania), Koen Heg (Netherlands) and in the final defeated Rashid Mammadaliyev from Azerbaijan.

Romanian athlete Ioan Dzitak and American judoka Jack Yonezuka won bronze in the competition.

Thanks to Adil Osmanov’s victory, Moldova currently ranks 6th in terms of points among 78 countries.
