Today, Prime Minister Dorin Recean participated in the “Moldova Digital Summit,” a three-day event held from June 15 to 17 in Chisinau.
The summit serves as a platform for experts from the international and national ICT industry, government officials, business community leaders, donors, and representatives of diplomatic missions to discuss topics related to the digital transformation of the Republic of Moldova.
Key areas of focus include digital transformation, the potential of artificial intelligence, and the enhancement of cybersecurity.
During the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Recean highlighted the significant progress that the Republic of Moldova has made in its digitalization process over the past years. He emphasized that this progress brings about various transformations and opportunities for society and the country’s economy.
“The government’s priority is to automate processes and make them more efficient for citizens. Anything that can be done remotely should be done remotely, whether it’s starting a business, opening a bank account, or signing an employment contract. Everything can be simplified and accelerated through digitalization. What matters is that digitalization is citizen-centered, providing transparency and quick access to necessary information and services. By digitalizing government services, we streamline administrative processes, reduce bureaucracy, and improve the relationship between the state, citizens, and businesses,” stated the Prime Minister.
Over the next three days, the “Moldova Digital Summit” will feature sessions and discussions on the digital transformation process of the Republic of Moldova. Esteemed guests from Romania, Estonia, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and the United States will share their experiences and insights on implementing technologies in various fields, including citizen-centric public solutions and shared digital infrastructure.
