The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) warned the public after detecting a rise in fraud cases involving Moldovan citizens scammed by an unauthorized company that offered fake visa appointments and job placements in Germany.
Police stated that the company did not receive authorization from the German Embassy and that the person who signed the letters does not work for the institution.
“We urge citizens to remain vigilant and avoid using questionable intermediaries. Visa appointment bookings at the German Embassy are free and can only be made online, in Romanian or Russian, through the embassy’s official website,” the IGP stated.
