Popsoi, after Zakharova and Peskov defended Gutul: The Kremlin regime is not in a position to offer us lessons

“The Kremlin regime is not in a position to teach us lessons on democracy.” It is how Mihai Popsoi commented on Russia’s accusations against the Chisinau government following the detention of Evghenia Gutul.

Moldova’s head of diplomacy emphasized that the Moscow administration no longer hesitates “to openly defend criminal groups in Moldova.” At the same time, Popsoi pointed out that the ruling party in Russia persecutes the opposition.

“The Kremlin regime, which persecutes the opposition and kills inconvenient politicians, is not in a position to offer lessons on democracy. The detention of Evghenia Gutul, a member of the Shor criminal network, is within the competence of the prosecutors, and the Moldovan institutions will act on this case,” concluded the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

After Evghenia Gutul’s detention on the evening of March 25, Dmitri Peskov and Maria Zakharova made similar statements. They defended the Governor of Gagauzia and stated that the official from Comrat was facing political pressure.
