Preserving the Treasures of Moldova: Intangible Cultural Heritage Forum Takes Center Stage in Chisinau

On Thursday, April 27th, the fourth edition of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Forum will take place at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (exhibition block, Casa Mare Hall). The event will bring together mayors, culture specialists, traditional artisans, representatives of local communities, and researchers.

According to the organizers, several traditional artisans will receive certificates as Bearers of Living Human Treasures during the event.

Furthermore, the situation of elements inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity will be analyzed, including “Colindatul de ceata barbateasca,” “Traditional Techniques of Bark Processing in Romania and Moldova,” “Cultural Practices Associated with March 1st,” and “Art of the Shirt with Altita – A Cultural Identity Element in Romania and Moldova.”

The participants will also discuss proposals for new elements to be inscribed on Representative List and other current topics related to intangible cultural heritage. The event promises to be a great opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge and to promote the preservation and celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Moldova.
