President Maia Sandu attends the 61st edition of the Munich Security Conference, which will take place on February 14-15 in Germany. The event, recognized as the most important global security forum, will bring political leaders, security experts, and civil society representatives to address pressing international security challenges.
According to the Presidency, President Sandu will hold high-level meetings to discuss regional security and efforts to restore peace in Europe. “Amid unprecedented challenges to European security, President Maia Sandu will reaffirm Moldova’s commitment to regional stability and strategic partnerships,” the statement reads.

In the conference’s context, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Å ekerinska to discuss the implementation of NATO’s Assistance Package for strengthening Moldova’s security and defense capacities. The officials also addressed resilience-building, countering emerging security threats, combating disinformation, and advancing public diplomacy efforts.
Popsoi reiterated Moldova’s interest in NATO’s expertise and support for democratic reforms and the modernization of the national security and defense sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of political dialogue and practical cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.
