President Maia Sandu awarded Bogdan Aurescu with the “Order of Honor”

Moldovan President Maia Sandu awarded former Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu the “Order of Honor.” The decree was signed on Monday, June 19.

The award was given as a token of appreciation for the contribution to strengthening relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two states, as well as for supporting the European course of our country and promoting common interests within the institutions of the European Union.

On Thursday, June 15, 290 out of 385 deputies voted for the Ciolacu government in Romania, and another 95 voted against it. Luminita Odobescu was appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This happened after the PNL leader, Nicolae Chuca, resigned as Prime Minister on June 12. Florin Chitu resigned as President of the Senate on June 29, 2022, and Alina Gorghiu was appointed acting.
