President Maia Sandu congratulated Ilie Bolojan on his appointment as Prime Minister of Romania, reaffirming Moldova’s commitment to strong bilateral cooperation.
“Moldova remains a reliable partner, and we are confident that we will continue our close cooperation with Romania for the benefit of citizens on both sides of the Prut,” President Sandu stated in her message, as reported by IPN.
On Monday evening, Romania’s new government, led by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, won the parliamentary vote of investiture during a joint session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. Later that night, the Cabinet of Ministers took the oath of office in front of Romanian President Nicușor Dan and held its first official meeting.

According to the signed coalition agreement, the government pledges to support the Republic of Moldova’s EU accession efforts, democratic development, and economic and cultural advancement.
“The support of the Republic of Moldova for the acceleration and maintenance of the European path and the strengthening of democratic values, respectively its economic, social and cultural strengthening to integrate into the European Union,” the agreement states.
