President Maia Sandu is on an official visit to Montenegro, where she held a bilateral meeting with President Jakov Milatovic.
“I began my official visit to Montenegro, an EU candidate country, with a warm and productive meeting with President Jakov Milatovic. We share European aspirations and actively work together to build better lives for our people,” Sandu stated.
The visit takes place at the invitation of the Montenegrin President and follows Maia Sandu’s participation in the European Political Community Summit on 16 May in Tirana, Albania. The following day, she held a bilateral meeting in Tirana with Albanian President Bajram Begaj.

Like Moldova, Albania, and Montenegro are candidate countries for EU accession. These high-level meetings aim to enhance coordination and cooperation in the European integration process through experience sharing and bilateral ties.
