President Maia Sandu met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), to discuss ways to accelerate economic growth, attract investment, and maximize opportunities offered by the European Union’s Growth Plan, in line with Moldova’s European integration efforts.

The president thanked the EBRD for its continued support and for increasing investments in Moldova over the past four years. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a predictable and transparent business environment to attract foreign investment.

Since 2022, the EBRD has invested €1.7 billion in Moldova, contributing to a total of nearly €2.9 billion across 193 projects. Around 40% of the bank’s portfolio targets infrastructure, while investments in energy, connectivity, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises aim to drive sustainable growth and strengthen Moldova’s European path.
