The presidents of the friendship groups in the parliaments of the European Union member states are paying a joint visit to Moldova on Europe Day. The visit is a strong message of support for the European perspective of our country.
On 9 May, the Parliament will discuss the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union and how parliamentary institutions in the EU Member States can support our country’s European future.
The Chairpersons of friendship groups with EU Member States, MPs from different countries, and ambassadors of EU Member States will attend the discussions.

“At the event opening, the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, the European Commissioner for Budget and Administration, Johannes Hahn, and the Vice-President of the Parliament, Doina Gherman, will deliver greetings. The Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration, Ina Cosheru, will chair the meeting. The keynote speakers will be Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Radu Marian and Oazu Nantoi MEPs, who will address the current situation in the economic and energy sector, as well as the fight against misinformation, fake news, and hybrid warfare,” says Parliament.
The officials will also participate in the “European Town” on the Grand National Assembly Square. Afterward, the chairpersons of the friendship groups from the parliaments of the EU Member States will go to Ungheni, where they will get acquainted with several projects implemented with the support of the European Union.
