“I requested the immediate resignation of the head of the National Administration of Penitentiaries (NAP),” Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced on the evening of Friday, April 4. This announcement comes amid the scandal involving releasing several convicted individuals from Moldova’s prisons.
“The National Administration of Penitentiaries is precisely the institution that must assess all risks related to the release of inmates, not allow abuses to happen,” he added.
