Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met with the Speakers of Parliament of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania during their official visit to Chisinau. The discussions focused on Moldova’s European path and the deepening of cooperation with the Baltic states.

According to a post published by the prime minister, the Baltic officials came to Chisinau “to say with one voice that the future of the Republic of Moldova lies within the great European family.”

Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that Moldova and the Baltic states share both “the same memory of a painful Soviet past” and “the same courageous choice for a European future, built on freedom, democracy, and solidarity.”

During the meeting, the prime minister thanked the Speakers of Parliament for their consistent support of the Republic of Moldova in its process of accession to the European Union.

“Training civil servants, supporting the digitalization of public services, and renewable energy projects are just a few of the areas in which we are working together,” Munteanu said.

He added that the authorities in Chisinau will continue to turn this cooperation “into as many concrete actions as possible, for the benefit of citizens, bringing the Republic of Moldova step by step closer to its rightful place in the European Union.”

On February 3, the Speakers of Parliament of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania delivered speeches during a solemn sitting of the Moldovan Parliament marking the opening of the spring session. Their visit agenda also includes meetings with parliamentary faction leaders and a visit to the Călărași district.
